Okay,
Here is the situation....
Pulled out of the driveway this morning and noticed a spot on the driveway. Pulled into the garage and jacked up the mini to take a look underneath. Oil pan is completely clean, but right driveshaft and upper right side of engine block are completely covered in oil.
Cleaning the engine off as best I could, I was not able to find the source of the leak. I went ahead and schedule a service appointment with my local dealer for tomorrow morning.
Is there anyone out there was some experience that may have an idea as to what could be causing the leak? The engine is not low on oil. Any help is greatly appreciated. I will update the post when I hear back from the dealer about what the problem is.
***UPDATE***
So far, according to the dealer, they believe it is the timing chain tensioner. Apparently it is a common problem for them to come lose and this causes a small oil leak. The only good new i received from the dealer was that it is all covered under the warranty so I will have no cost, and they are going to go ahead and service the car for all the recommended items that need to be replaced.
Keep ya posted with any further updates.
***UPDATE***
Finally got the car back from the dealer and this is what they found:
The timing tensioner had a bad seal that needed to be replaced. This is where the oil leak was coming from. They also performed the recall work for the auxiliary water pump replacement. Thank goodness it was an easy and fairly quick fix.
