Great Forum! Just wondered how many people actually got a a refund on a new power steering pump from BMW? Why haven't the recalled them?
I bought my girlfriends 2004 mini cooper S with 1 owner last year with 37,000 on the clock and 1 owner. The power steering pump locks up and is now dangerous to drive. My local independent mechanic says it will cost £500 in total including fitting. Is this going to be a common replacement every two years? We knew of the power steering pump problems from friends but still wouldn't have bought anything else cos we love the car. Please help! Have searched the forum already.
