I have a 2002 Mini Cooper and today the tyre pressure warning light came on and stayed on solidly. I stopped at a garage and checked all the pressures and all were at 30 psi except for the driver front which was @ 25 psi. I put air in the front driver side tyre to bring it up to 30 psi and continued my journey. Now the type pressure light is continually flashing not as it was before. Does this mean something different? how does it know there's still a problem if it just works on tyre pressure?

As luck would have it I was booked in to have the driver side front replaced tomorrow due to wear anyway...

Reset/recalibrate the alarm and see if it comes back again. I was told by the dealer that one may have to do this occasionally. The procedure is in the manual.

Also, I think it will not clear by itself. You have to do it manually.

Locate the reset button positioned below the handbrake handle.
Turn the ignition to position 2, press and hold the reset button until the yellow indicator on the dash lights up for a few seconds.
The vehicle is now ready to recalibrate the TPS system on your next drive. After a few minutes of driving, the system will calibrate to the newly-installed or adjusted tires and properly set the pressures to be monitored.

Just a side note..... My light did not go out until i switched off engine and restarted car, so do as it says but if light stays on then pull over , switch off car and turn back on, worked for me......
