Hi,

Sorry I am all very new to this so apologies if it seems written like a noob - because it is.

Any way, some crafty beggar, while my car was parked has knocked a large chunk out of the front plastic bottom grill and has cracked the chrome surround. I assume that Mini workshop will pull my pants down over the price. So my questions are;

- Are these parts easy to get hold of, if yes, where can I purchase them from?
- Are they easy enough to fit myself or is it a fiddly job?

As mentioned the front grill is just the basic black plastic one and the chrome surround is also basic plastic.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You'll probably have to buy the parts from a dealer but try the breakers yard at Bury I think they are minisparesuk.com
The grill fastened on from the back so you'll have to take the bumper off which means both plastic wheel arches need to come off to get to the end bumper fixings. Some of the grey clips will break and some of the black bumper clips will also break.
Once you've got the bumper off the new grill will easily clip into it.

The plastic wheel arches slide out of the clips so you have to turn them towards the back of the car. Then when you put them back on you put the clips on the arches first.
Also be prepared to have to cut the black clip at the front of the arch with a junior hacksaw blade.

Sounds a right faff but it's all right once you get used to the clips
