Hi,
Hoping for some help and advice please!
We have a 2009 Mini Cooper S Convertible - UK Spec with 17" black star bullet wheels.
Sadly, the 'better half' has somewhat mullered the 2 passenger side wheels on the kerb - just the last 5cm alloy coloured edge of the wheel and not the black part.
So, I'm after advice on repair - can these be done on this type of wheels (picture at goo.gl/BPncJ) as they appear to be alloy with maybe a clear lacquer at the edges, rather than painted silver.
If anyone has any recommendations for a wheel repair shop in and about Yorkshire (Sheffield, Hudds, Leeds) or North England in general (Manchester).
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks
Rob

I was looking at some black bullets in the showroom as they appear to be the lightest 17" OEM wheel, so I'm thinking of ordering a car with them. It looked to me like the 'alloy coloured' bit is just regular silver paint and not a lacquered polished alloy. If so, normal silver alloy repair kit should work though it won't do anything for the black bit. I bought a Planet Polish repair kit (http://www.planetpolish.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1) on the recommendation of someone here and was well impressed with it. It contains absolutely everything needed for a tenner. But doing it with the wheel still on the car would be really hard, so I think a jack and wheelbrace is needed, which may rule out those with runflats.
