Anyone know whay might cause the aircon to not work?

SWMBO says it was working (she thinks!) but now the warm weather is here it's clearly not. The light comes on but there is absolutely no cooling at all, no matter what the temp setting or fan speed.

It's a 2007 Cooper which we bought as a Cherished Mini less than two months ago.

Is there something simple like a fuse for the compressor, or more likely to be just that the Mini dealer didn't check the car out properly and it needs gassing?

cheers

Definitely sounds like it needs a re-gas to me. :)

Check out this thread (http://www.mini2.com/forum/second-generation-interior-ice/192604-no-cold-air-my-aircon.html) for discussion on the topic, primarily this post (http://www.mini2.com/forum/first-generation-interior-ice/174982-air-con-not-blowing-out-cold-air.html#post3764594) which I'll quote below...

There may be a leak from one of the pipes, but it most definatelly will just need a re-gas. The re-gas company will check for leaks prior to your re-gas, this is common practice. The compressors (usually) are not prone to brake.

Let us know how you get on. Plenty of cheap home visit re-gass companies in your local paper.

Hope that helps! :)
