i have to sell my mini due to money troubles but it has the engine managment light on due to a decat fitted and i no longer have the old cat. will this be a problem to sell??

I suppose it depends what you ask for it when you sell it,
If your asking a resonable price taking into the fact the cat may need replacing again then I would think it wont be a problem.

I think it will fail its next MOT with no cat fitted and warning light on, so any buyer will want a discount for the extra cost and hassle.

Yes, it will definitely fail its MOT. Why do people insist on removing them?!

Shame you have to sell, iv just bought mine a month ago and its been in garage more than its been with me, had about £1000 spent on her already(terrible previous owner i suspect) (under warranty tho thank god) or i too would have had to get rid. Maybe one day you will be in a better financial position an able to buy another.as for warning lights etc im still learning, but thanx to everyone on here im getting all the info i need, brilliant set of people. thank you, im sorry i have to sell to i love the car. its going in for its recall on monday and to have the sunroof replaced as the runners got dry and the moter decided to **** itself and bend the frame.... ooops

Ahhhhh Harvey94 has had probs with his sunroof, same prob i think the runner on one side has bent/buckled ^^^^^^ mine also siezed due to bein parked under trees (previous owner) so the sap welded the cassette, luckily the cassette wasnt bent and mechanic greased it back up an hey presto. open & closes like a dream.
