hi everyone. i made the stupid mistake of dropping a screw onto the engine bay! after a route around i found the screw. but i also stumbled across a wire that was simply sat resting on the plastic guard underneath the radiator, i cant get under the car at the moment to see if i can find it a home, does anyone have any idea where the little blighter lives?

cheers
max

i have traced the wires location back to the little black box with a few wires coming out of it that is to the left of the airbox before the engine block, it then runs down the front of the engine and is lieing loosely towards the bottom of the radiator. i have attatched a photo of the connector itself poking out below the plastic guard.
ive jacked the car up but i still cant find an empty space to plug her in! any help would be massively appreciated

This question comes up from time to time, it is actually the connector plug for the air conditioning compressor...........however if air con is not fitted it is left tied to the wiring loom and only used if ever a/c was retrofitted at a later date.
I'm guessing your Mini does not have a/con so all is well?

You can see where it plugs into a round shape socket on the top/side of the compressor in this diagram:
