Ever since we have had the car (02 Cooper) it occasionally threw up the puncture light. We have had a couple of punctures and are alerted with the lamp, but we seem to be getting false alarms from the system.
I became obcessed with tyre pressures, maintaining them within the thickness of my pressure gauge needle! BMW have informed me that it should not come on if there is less than about 5lbs drop.
It seems that now that the light will come on at about the same point in a regular journey - almost to the lampost!
Any ideas where to start looking?

Faulty wheel sensor I guess, linked in with ABS?

That's what I would have thought, but the ABS appears to work as it should with the light going out at start and not flashing or coming on again?
