First time user of the forum, so bear with me. I have a 2004 Mini S with 117,000 miles. The car runs and drives beautifully, however for the past 2 months I have experienced cold weather starting problems. When I leave the car out in cold weather for any period of time I have to crank it over by cycling the key on and off at least 40 times and then it will start. Once the car is warmed up it will start every time on the first turn, but after it sits and gets cold I have to try repeatedly to get it to start. I have changed the coolant temperature sensor located on the left side of the block per the service mangager at Mini. I hesitate to go back to the dealer as the last time I went he said I needed repairs that after getting a second opinion from a BMW mechanic were really not necessary. So I'd like to fix this problem myself, but can't find anything related in my Bently's manual. Any suggestions other than taking it to the dealer?
