I am new to the mini world and was hoping to get some help replacing my waterpump. Dealership quoted me nearly 900 and I just cant afford that. I have a full set of tools and extensive mechanical ability, just no mini experience. The car is a 2008 mini hatch back with the base engine and auto trans (non-turbo) I am confused on the pump, they list like 3 or 4 different manufacturers. Also if anyone has tips / procedure on the replacement that would be a life saver. I have read so many different things on what needs to be removed, I just dont want to disassemble things unnecessarily. Thanks again for any help.

Its an easy job to do but the minis are small and its quiet difficult to move around. You might want to lift the car up to do the job so you don't disconect many things. The pump it self costs a bit of money but i recommend going for the metal one. Good luck.

If you just go to an independent shop you can probably get it done for around $500
