Hi,
My girlfriend damaged her rear bumper quite bad on her 2001 Mini One.
She has bought a 2nd hand one from ebay, which looks the same, but it doesn't have the shiney silver strip on it.
How do you remove the silver strip? As on the new (2nd hand) bumper there doesn't seem to be any clips etc for it to clip on to?
Thanks a lot

The early bumpers with chrome trim some I think have small slots/holes in to locate the chrome capping trim or some are are just stuck on with adhesive. The more basic bumper was just colour coded without the holes/slots or any chrome trim.

Thanks for the reply.
So she might have bought the wrong one? She was under the impression that the chrome trim was inter-changeable.
Or even if her current one has the tabs on, can they be snapped off, then use adhesive to stick on the trim on the new bumper?
Thanks

I would prise the old chrome trim off very carefully, it should be easier with the bumper off so that you can see if there are any tabs/clips behind to release first. Then as you say you can decide best way to attach to the replacement bumper, it is only a trim so some form of suitable adhesive will be fine.
Worst case if it gets damaged you buy a new chrome trim from MINI Dealer and fit with Tigerseal as used in car bodyshops.
