Can anyone recommend any replacement 501 sidelights for the front end that are not as yellow as the originals and nothing with a blue tint? I want a closer match to the headlamps as possible.

2005 mini cooper hatch.

I bought white LED bulbs off eBay. They are only cheap, but give a nice white light, rather than yellow. There are loads on there, all similar and not a hint of blue in sight!

Do you have a link to an example? I presume you bought canbus LEDs so you don't get the lights out warning light on the dash?

I have replaced all the interior lighting with SMD LED's and they look awesome but some of them are a little bit blue, particulary the single SMD 501's.
