About 4 or 5 weeks ago I went to drive my MINI (2007 model CooperS) and found the doors were already unlocked, and two pairs of sunglasses (Ray-bans plus a cheap pair) were gone, which were the only things of any value in the car.
I thought maybe I hadn't locked it the last time I used it and, perhaps, an opportunist thief had helped himself as a result. The sun-glasses were always kept in the car, but I searched everywhere else just in case I'd moved them and forgotten, but they didn't show up.
I haven't replaced the Ray-bans yet, but found another cheap pair lying around so put them in the glove-box for driving use.
Two days ago I went out to the car and, again, it was unlocked and the cheap glasses were gone, plus a bluetooth-earpiece - which were the only things of any value in the car.
So, this seems to me to be far too much of a coincidence.
My guess is that someone is using some sort of over-ride on the cars locking system to gain access - is this possible? anyone else ever heard of this?
