Evening people, after what seems like an age and after writing off my 1 Series M sport Convertible, hence my user name, I am now the proud owner of an MCS R57. Have wanted one for ages and even though it’s only 4 days old and has been hacking it down with rain, I have washed it twice.

Thanks to all in this forum I am quite well clued up on pretty much all I need to know, such as changing your iPod to output as NTSC rather than PAL, how to change the interior lights colours etc… a real big help. I am driving around at the moment with the sport button on and loving the popping and banging of the exhaust which makes a great sound as you gear down and hit around 2000 RPM.
Will post more pics when the weather dries up and the sun comes out to play.

Very nice - congrats! I do prefer the black front grille surround, as opposed to the chrome one, but your car looks stunning all the same. :D

Sorry to hear about your last car/crash though! Which model 1 Series did you have? I've been eyeing up the 135i M Sport Coupe as a potential MINI replacement...

I had a 2.0l, I did test drive a 3.0l which was wild, the 2.0l was only the 143bhp version. Fast once it was going but thirsty if you wanted to have fun, I only averaged around 24mpg which is rubbish, but I did thrash it. Really enjoyed the car, not too big, a nice size, run flats were like all run flats, a tad harsh, having said that I have run flats on my MCS, maybe I like being battered as I drive 
It’s difficult the 2 as they are very different, you won’t regret in my opinion as they are very different

YEY! Someone who washes their car more than me! (nice car by the way). I hate a dirty car, got my new one in Januray and its had 3 coats of Autoglym extra gloss protection and yet this rubbish weather has meant little tar spots so soon as its nice again its going to get the full wash, dry, tar remove, wash, dry, cleanse, polish then wax treatment :) I get asked by my neighbours if 1, I work for Mini (having 2 on the drive brand new) and 2, do I professionaly valet for a living lol! The answer is No and No I just love a shiny car!

Enjoy the new car m8, and get some wax on it when its sunny!

Cheers all, yep just over a week and a half now and growing more and more to love these little things. This week we have had 2 trips to London and again no music on just listening to the engine, always makes me smile when some big car tailgates you, drop it down one or 2 gears and they are dust. Used to do this with an S2000 I had back in 2004.

To Mattstorm, I am gutted with this weather as really wanted to wash and wax on day 1 of delivery to give it my own shine, hopefully in a few weeks time the weather will be better

Managed to wash and wax on Friday, then went out country lane driving on Saturday and now have some nice mud splashes along the doors and wheel arches
