Hi guys,

As of this morning my boot release has stopped working from both the fob key and the push bottom on the chrome strip.

I have managed to get access to the boot using the emergency pull but can't work the fault out.

I've done all lot of reading online about this, and it seems that the boot lock failing is a common fault.

I am slightly confused though and need a little help. Everyone talks about the chrome strip push button release being the problem, but if it's not working from the fob key, would that not be the lock assembly that's faulty? surly the chrome strip is just the button assembly and Won't effect the release when using the fob?

Any help would be appreciated.

mine went a couple days ago after it rained along with a hoard of other things but it was caused by some corroded wires in the wiring harness going from it to the BCM. it was done on the 30 day warranty from the dealer so i cant tell you which wires

To be honest it's all fixed.

He guys on total mini were helpful as usual.
