HI All sorry to drag this up again(seen the links on maintainance) but i'm having trouble with the fag lighter in my 02 mcs it's blowing the fuse even when there's no load on the circuit :puzzled: i know this will be a short somewhere i've had both lighters out, car and boot so im thinking fuse box end but any help would be good

you might need to disconnect the actual cig lighters and / or test them to make sure they are not shorting for some reason. With the cig lighter removed you know its something else if you keep blowing the fuse.

Does the fuse blow are soon as you turn the ignition to accessories on?

Hi Burnstar thanks for the reply i've had both lighters out and yeah the fuse goes as soon as the ignition is switched to 1st position

Of course you could just leave them not working, its an ideal opportunity to give up smoking :p
