Hi,

I've a 04 mini Cooper S from New , and over the last few years I've noticed the Typical Super charge Whine I got from about 3500 RPM up have seems to disappear or has gotten less over time (no it's not my hearing as i can hear other copper s whine) , I can't say I've noticed any dramatic change the the performance of the car, but the whine that i fell in love with when i got the car so many years ago is well missing :( (or not as noticeable) any clues as to why ?

Belt slipping?

Hi

I thought that too about the belt so the last service about 3 months ago i got the belt replace as well, (as the car has 98K Miles ) I don't think the belt had ever been changed since new but made no difference , I was told that the belt tensor damper was gone and should be replaced but haven't done that, can't see how that would stop the super charger making it's whine..
