Hi Guys!

Was driving back from work yesterday and it was abit cold so, as ya do, I went to turn the heating up abit to find I couldnt! The wheel still turns both ways but there isn't the usual "clicking" sound you would hear... I have taken just the wheel off the unit to check it anything is blocking the connection or anything has broken but cannot see anything...

All the other buttons work like fan speed, rear screen, auto etc but I'm stuck with the temperature being at 20 (which is lucky really as it's usually what I have it at, but is still a pain when I am going to want to defrost my wind screen or whatever)

Does anyone know any fixes? Can it be taken out and easy dis-assembled without too much hassle? Or is it worth buying a new unit, as I've seen a few on eBay for £40 ish?

I take it you have the auto-climate control panel with digital temp display.
If you buy a used panel check carefully numbers as there are at least 2 different types/makes depending on year which look very similar from the front but are not interchangeable on connections. From memory one is made by Behr and the other is Valeo. The manufacturer and part number is on the rear face of panel, also often a date/label.

Part numbers can be found here if you enter your model year/month/VIN number:
