Hi All,
I picked up my R56 One 1.6 Auto back in September last year and have treated her right from day 1, taking it easy up to 1,500 miles and also getting Shell VPower about 75% of the time. She's just hit 5,000 miles and I have been fairly happy but there are some things with the Autobox which really bug me and I don't know if it's just mine affected or others as well.
The issues are:
-Jerkiness when lifting off the throttle (even if done slowly)
-Not changing up/down at the right time, and then jerking as it does because of the momentum change.
-No response from the throttle at times (e.g. when pulling away from lights)
-Little response from using throttle after slowing down (for example, someone in front slows down to turn off and I slow down, then the person in front is out the way so I put my foot back on the throttle and it sits there confused and then decides to go.
-Jerking through gears as I come to a stop, and then jumping as I stop completely.
In sports mode some of these problems are partially solved (take off power is delivered a lot quicker, but still slow imo) but, I find Sports mode makes the car a lot more jerky at changing gear and even my passengers have commented on this, which then makes me end up driving using the tiptronic or the paddles, which kinda defeats the object of having the automatic in the first place for me (pure laziness!!)
The car is going in to have the boot handle changed to a chrome one on Saturday morning so I will ask the guys at the dealership, but I just thought I'd chuck this out there to see if anyone else has experienced these issues.
For reference my car is a One 1.6 R56 built in September 2011.
Many thanks,
Geo
