Hi there, hope someone can help me establish when my Mini is due for a service.

2010 Cooper D Convertible. I have had it four weeks now and am trying to work out when it needs to be serviced.

It had just under 6k miles on the clock and I noticed when I put the ignition on that it comes up with a car symbol in the rev counter and shows 7000 and 10/2012.

Now I was reading that it meant the car needed to be serviced at 7000 miles or 10/2012 (car's 2nd birthday), whichever rolls around first.

It has now ticked over to 7000 miles, but in the display it is still showing 7000 and 10/2012 so I am a bit confused. Does the miles to the service not tick down until it reaches 0 ?

I'm not used to all this fancy stuff, my old car used to flash up Insp 12 months round from the last service.
