Hi guys,

Sorry if this has come up previous but i'm pretty new to all this. I walked to my car earlier to find a puddle of water underneath the front of my car. Being a girl i'm not too sure what is what and before possibly getting ripped off at a garage I am just wondering if anyone on here could please help me?

When I looked under the bonnet I could see water dripping from the bottom right corner of the radiator... upon trying to look closer at the leak (photos below) I also found a loose ... what I think may be a pipe? But someone also thought it may be a sensor or something? I have tried to get everything in the photos below;

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need any more pics please let me know and i'll get then asap.

Thank you everyone!

The sensor is probably just the outside temperature probe for your dash readout, they are normally down there somewhere behind the skirt and nothing to do with the radiator.
The leak could be a loose or broken hose clip, split hose or a split/broken spigot onto the radiator that the hose fits onto, or stone damage to the radiator core, or just plain corroding of the aluminium core.
You need to drop the undershield and have a better look, bit difficult to see otherwise, but appreciate thats probably something you can do as you will need tools, or a handy man?

Most likely you'll neeed a new radiator, but beware of being ripped off http://www.mini2.com/forum/first-generation-mini-cooper/191344-rip-off-radiator-rogues.html

As I posted in that thread, they aren't that expensive on ebay, though you'll then need new coolant and have the labour to pay for

The loose part is the outside temperature sensor and should be clipped behind front bumper

Aluminium radiator may have corroded a tad, what year Mini is it ? and how often have you flushed the cooling system ?

Ah, thats what the sensor is?

Mine was stowage out the way near the airbox for some reason. Not in airflow where it gets a more immediate and accurate reading. Ill have to move it, what should it clip to?

Where abouts do you live? Does your car have air con? and if it does were you using it before you parked up? It might be just the air con leaving a water trail which is perfectly normal.. Have you checked the water level in the expansion tank?
