Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone out there has the Parrot Asteroid HU fitted to a Mini (ideally a 1st gen S)...How do you find it ? And now that their Unika module is available for steering wheel controls, does anybody have any direct experience with the Mini's MFSW...?

Also, any pictures of one fitted by any chance, day and night..? I've only been able to find one image here (sorry, I can't make a link to the post as I'm a newbie!), but would love to see some more and a night shot would be great...

Many thanks in advance, :)

Hey i have the Asteroid in my Cooper, its amazing. Well it is when its working apart from the popping, banging, shutting down and long turn on times. I can show you a picture if you like?

I'm interested in the Parrot Asteroid too, as its not much more than fitting a Parrot bluetooth kit, which we need.
When you say "popping, banging" is this a real issue then?

Pickfordmat - cool, nice to get some response to this post. Sure, post some pics...it's always good to see some images....I've seen one pic on here of an Asteroid fitted in a Mini....they're great looking units for sure, though as you hint, they have their 'issues'...! To be honest, in the time since I posted this, I've pretty much decided to go for a Kenwood USB unit - may not quite have the looks or the 'package' of the Asteroid, but at least there's a higher chance of it being stable..!

d3matt - yes, unfortunetly there seems to be a few, and well reported, 'issues' with the Asteroid unit...the latest software version v1.5 was intended to address a lot of issues - and does - but also seems to have brought some new ones...Random resets, power downs and popping through the speakers during calls seem to be the most reported.....Have a browse on the Parrot UK forum, or even some Amazon (US) user reviews.....

A real shame, as in many ways it looks like a perfect HU on paper and in looks (though wish it could light orange to match the Mini!)....and strange for it to be having the issues it does as obviously Parrot have such a deservedly good reputation.....

Well it was working fine on the 1.43 software, but i decided to upgrade to the 1.5 and now randomly it will make a loud banging noise through the speakers and restart, I'm actually going to reinstall the 1.43 today and see how it goes.
Amazing head unit apart from that, everyone is always saying how good to look at, The sound quality is out of this world no joke.

Ill go take some pictures in a minute when i reinstall the software.
