Hi al

I'm a new member, not a Mini owner yet, but I am very seriously tempted to become one.

Test drove a Cooper S a few days ago, loved every second of it, but one thing that concerned me was that I wasn't sure I'd be able to swtich the built-in stereo for the unit I had in my old car. I seriously love that stereo, and can't bear to lose it!

If someone can reassure me I'll be able to change it, I'm almost certain to buy the car, it's a real dealbreaker, but I'm too embarrassed to ask such a trivial question in the showroom!

Hi al

Thats what the highly trained, experience and professional salesman is there for, no doubt he could nip around the back and ask one of the vehicle electricians for you if he didnt know.
It depends to a great extent what unit youre wanting to fit in place of whats there already I should think? I doubt everything will just slot in/fit, I mean the unit in my Freelander is huge so theres no chance with that one ever fitting in the space available in the MINI.
I never use the stereo anyway, sooner listen to that exhaust note

You can change it but not easily
