Hi

Have just purchased a 2003 / 52 plate Cooper. It's has the 17" wheels and sports plus suspension, that's what BMW called it when I rang to check the spec.
When the kids get in the back the rear tyres rub the wheel arch when the road undulates or gets bumpy.
The car does sit low but surely this can't be right

on bmw motorcycles (i own 2, a 1974 and a 1987, both owned since new), the stock springs are known to sag with age

i have only owned my mini for just under 2 months, but checking the unladen height should tell you if the springs are sagging ... the dealer or another member here should be able to give you the spec

another thought is the suspension "snubbers", the rubber/plastic bumpers that the suspension contacts at near full compression ... i have noticed that several sites sell aftermarket snubbers ... i wonder why?

the snubbers act as extra springs that only come into play under max load or large suspension travel

a visual inspection of the snubbers should reveal damage or if they are missing
