Hey guys, Im a newbie with the MINI's.
After a good bit of help here. I bought a Cooper S off a mate.. and its suddenly gone into limp mode. Had it on the diagnostic and its come back and about 4 things for the throttle body, So i have bought a brand new throttle body, fitted it.. started up alright.. was running for about 2 secs then straight back into its limp mode.
I had a BMW technician come out to diagnose it.. cost me 60quid.. and hes now telling me its a wiring harness from the throttle body to the ECU.. Although i have the slightest feeling there is a lack of vacuum in the pipe between body and the charger inlet. As i have been pushing on it while running and it seems to change its idle when i play around with this pipe.
Note: this car was running MINT for a good few years.. then once i bring it into my area with POT HOLE GALORE this may have caused the problem?
Any advice would be more than appreciated. I look forward to hearing back from someone.
