Hi Guys,
I'm a newbie and sorry this is my first post and I have a problem.
I bought a mini one D 1.4 with a damaged bonnet and headlights on an 06.
My friend actually had a mini cooper S bonnet complete with the headlights available in the same colour.
Anyway bolted it on and plugged it all in etc and at first it seemed to all work.
The headlight height adjusters work and the spray is all plugged in.
The connection block uses the same wires etc etc
PROBLEM:
When the engine is not running they work perfectly. When you turn the engine on after a few seconds they start to flicker
So searched the forums and found I might need a 50 watt 6ohm resistor on each headlight to convert it from 4amp to 2amp (like when the engine is not running. Tried this in parallel and sequence and neither work
Did more research and some one mentioned a 3amp Diode - tried this again and same result.
When I rev the engine it actually keeps the lights lit - clearly current flux is causing this but we are lost to be able to regulate it.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can someone help!!!
Surely this would be a regular upgrade for some people so this must have an easy fix by now.
Thanks Paul
