hey guys, just looking for some feed back or to see if anyone else has had the same problem, the mrs mini(cooper 58 reg) keeps randomly starting up when the keys are in the ignition, for example we were waiting outside kfc for our food to be brought out and with the automatic button start on, the engine just turned itself on without her putting her foot on the clutch?? any feedback would be appreciated cheers.

If you have engine auto/stop start facility fitted, which most new MINIs do, except JCWs I believe, and the engine stops when the car comes to a rest at traffic lights, in a queue or getting your Big Mac, if theres any battery draining items running, say you have lights on, heater on, etc, the car will auto start without you doing anything to preserve the battery charge levels, when it recognises the battery is being run down to a certain level, its normal, nothing to worry about.
