New to Minis so excuse me if this has been asked before somewhere, done a search but found nothing.

Coming down a dual carriagway today for about 15 miles at a steady speed, took the exit ramp and on over run I could hear what I can only describe as a crackling or popping in the exhaust.

1. Is this normal?
2. If not normal, what should I do?

PS. My car has 100 miles on the clock. :eek:

The popping exhaust has been enginered into the car!

Must be a cooper S? wouldnt be the same car without the popping, i have got it down to a fine art and regularly scare school kids with it!

If a Cooper S yes it's normal,it's one of the reason i bought a Coop S :D

Lol as the other guys said, on an S its quite normal and it becomes even louder when you press the Sport button.

I did have the sport button pressed and have to admit that I found myself feathering the throttle on over run to make it pop a little more on the way home tonight.... LOL

This car is soooo much fun to drive..... Cooper S has to be one of the most fun cars I have ever driven.
