: Windscreen wash/wipe issue

On a couple of occasions now, my wipers have not activated after spraying washer fluid onto the windscreen (or "windshield" for our US cousins ;-) ), leaving me to have to activate the wipers manually to wipe the washer fluid away.

Anyone else had this? Is it a known issue?

BTW, I have the rain sensor option on my Cooper D, in case it is relevant.

It happens sometimes if youve not pressed/activated the wash function for long enough.
Same with the headlamp wash, if you just blip the wash quickly they dont work either, (when the lights are on for this of course) a harder press is needed.

I wish it was as simple as that, but I'm definitely giving a good long press and it still doesn't work :-(

Sounds like a sticky relay then maybe?
