: Goodwood mowog May 31st, 2012, 09:35 AM I am one of the crazy people who paid a LOT for a Cooper S with nice paint and an amazing interior.
We picked up the Goodwood today and to keep it company A JCW Clubman also came home with it.
The JCW is Chilli Red with a Black Lounged leather interior.
We are on a Mini HI today... :D The Nun May 31st, 2012, 09:51 AM Im hanging on for the Goodwood JCW All4 GP mk3 250 though  minicore May 31st, 2012, 10:35 AM Nice! Get some pics up. :D SirRawlins May 31st, 2012, 01:44 PM I live about 3 or 4 miles from the Goodwood track and Rolls factory - these new cars look really great, something a bit special about them.
Congrats on the new collection of MINIs - good fun. Macguyvic May 31st, 2012, 02:38 PM I saw a Goodwood at the local Mini Dealer I go to. The interior is beautiful. I noted the lack of the air intake on the bonnet with the turbocharged motor. The one I saw didn't have a sunroof either. The car really stands out! Stunning! I should hope so, its twice the price of a normal one, bit of a *** if you didnt really notice anything different I guess.
I have seen pictures of one and they are very nice, you need put your best suit on or your best torn and ripped designer jeans to drive it though.
And of course being half Rolls Royce it might never go wrong either :D well the airbag/seat bit anyway. mowog Jun 1st, 2012, 05:53 AM Lets answer one question and put a misconception to bed.
The Bonnet scoop is only decorative anyway it is a left over from the Supercharged cars days when there was a top mount inter-cooler. I like the look without the scoop anyway.
The Goodwood also doesn't have the flappy paddles on the steering wheel. I was a bit surprised by that. It has the sport button and you can move the gear stick over for manual mode.
I hear and read a lot that the Goodwood is twice the price of a Cooper S. It is a lot more expensive than a base Cooper S. However you need to compare apples with apples here. Take a Cooper S and add the same list of options fitted to the Goodwood. Suddenly the price difference isn't that great. The price difference between a fully optioned Cooper S and the Goodwood actually makes the Goodwood a pretty good deal for what get.
I paid $75k on the road for the Goodwood a Cooper S with similar options is $63k before on roads. That is not a huge difference that some try say it is. Macguyvic Jun 1st, 2012, 02:32 PM Wow! The Goodwood I saw here in Houston stickers at $52,000. You cannot get the Goodwood interior, exclusive to the Goodwood, in an S. Other than special paint and wheels it's the interior that really sets it apart. Every door panel, inserts, dashboard, etc is in beautiful leather. Exclusive headliner and carpeting, the interior is stunning! A loaded cooper s runs around $34-35K. rich345 Jun 1st, 2012, 02:47 PM It sounds amazing. Please post a pic of both models. The clubbie sounds great too mowog Jun 3rd, 2012, 09:26 AM I have some photos online now.

I notice in the pictures you have Visual Boost. Do you get album artwork when you play your songs? mowog Jun 5th, 2012, 06:30 AM Your car is beautiful. I notice in the pictures you have Visual Boost. The Goodwood has 60klm on the clock most of that without the audio going. An iPod is connected but it hasn't been used much. Jarryd87 Jun 10th, 2012, 12:24 PM where about's did you buy them from? mowog Jun 11th, 2012, 05:39 AM where about's did you buy them from?
Brisbane Mini Garage. Ratpack Jun 12th, 2012, 11:33 AM I would have been happy if my Countryman had the option of a Goodwood interior. Real timber strip across dash would have been enough...
$75k is not bad for a car that will hardly depreciate. mowog Jun 13th, 2012, 07:36 AM Depreciation?
That is something only time can answer. Once all the new ones are sold used ones will be worth what people are willing to pay.
It is however not the rarest Mini I have owned. I brought a 1275LS new there were only 400 of them. Yes those were all in Australia. But as a guide a good 1275LS is worth 3 times its new car price now. | |
