My wife has got a 2007 mini cooper, i've been looking on the site for a while but cant seem to find out what i need to know. So hoping someone can help!

My mini has done 40k and is out of warranty and finance so taking it to the dealer will cost me $$!

So,

I've just had a service done on the car oil, filters etc also the rear anti roll bars were replaced as there was a knocking noise from the rear, this has now been fixed, BUT since this was fixed my boot will not open using the handle only from the key fob.

Also i'm sure i used to be able to open the boot from the fob without unlocking the car first but now i have to unlock first then unlock the boot, anyone else from the UK comfirm they have to do the same? or has the garage messed something up??

One other strange thing that happened was today, a week after the anti roll bars where replaced the clock decided to reset itself do you think when they reset the service lights they screwed something up it was just a independant garage.

Next question is, when i heavy accelerate say to overtake the car struggles to pick up, it doesnt seem to matter what gear im in it still feels like it is slow. The car drives fine with no noises that i am aware of but can't be entirely sure as i have only driven ours!

I'll answer the trunk lid question even though I'm having trouble following what your saying. The trunk will open two ways: First, pressing the trunk button on the key fob "pops" the trunk and it will open simply by pulling it open. Second, unlocking ALL doors using the fob or interior switch will unlock the trunk, then using the handle open it.

Hi sorry i didnt really make myself clear. I know how to open the boot of the car, but it has developed a fault. The car boot/trunk will no longer open with the handle on the back of the car, i have to use the key fob to open it now. Could it be a the switch gone faulty or when they reset the car computer to change the service lights, just seems a big coincidence that the boot switch stopped working the day the rear anti roll bars where replaced!

Are you sure it won't? Try hitting the unlock button on your fob like 3 or 4 times. Then pull the release handle...

Sorry Mini Me, I don't know how to insert links to other posts, but if you search for "R56 Service / Brake lights etc Reset Proceedure" then read that thread down to a post by Miniac, there is a list of instructions. Remember to close the door when you do it, and don't be freaked out by all the lights that come on and flash before you get to the bit where you can change the date. Good luck.

I had to reset my service lights - found a very useful link on this site which I used (see above). Really useful for reference in the future if you are going to have your Mini serviced or MOT'd somewhere other than (and probably cheaper than) a Mini dealership.

Sounds like a battery problem?
