: Milltek exhaust??? harvey94 Jun 10th, 2012, 07:46 PM Hey!
Well my mini has a very very slight blow at the rear and since I have been modding the rest of my mini I thought I would go for a better exhaust than just standard. I have been looking on Lohen and like the look of the Milltek, I just want the straight swap and not interested in the twin pipe. I am looking for a nice sound from the car but NOT boy racer!! Will this do the trick or am I just better buying a standard exhaust??
Thanks James burbidge Jun 10th, 2012, 08:20 PM Everyone tends to go for them they are a good choice. YouTube it and you'll fine a few clips
It is a nice sound. DanJackGrant Jul 3rd, 2012, 08:25 AM I had this problem and looked at all different types of systems including Borla, Milltek, PlayMini and Sportex and to be honest I don't think there is a really loud noisy exhaust out there for MINI. I ended up picking the PlayMini and it sounds awesome :) Its not too loud but pops and farts now and then :) Cheaper than the big name brands aswell ! Hayward & Scott exhaust + Hartge MINI - YouTube harvey94 Jul 3rd, 2012, 01:03 PM Still not sure what to go for , the milltek one on Lohen is £395 - delivery , i looked at Hayward & Scott but could only see ones for the cooper s , i really don't want boy racer! just a nice sound that wouldn't wake the neighbours after a late night :) creaturenick Aug 21st, 2012, 10:07 PM that does sound pretty good but still tempted by the miltek especially after seeing the quality on my friend's mk2 golf spikeyadrian Aug 31st, 2012, 10:06 AM Just had a Milltek cat-back fitted on my 2004 Cooper harvey,
sounds awesome! :D
NOT boy racer at all! The Nun Aug 31st, 2012, 01:52 PM i really don't want boy racer! just a nice sound that wouldn't wake the neighbours after a late night :)
Hey sounds like someones considerate here  harvey94 Aug 31st, 2012, 05:33 PM Just had a Milltek cat-back fitted on my 2004 Cooper harvey,

Oh man! Now you got me thinking! I was looking at this
BMW MINI ONE COOPER EXHAUST SCORPION NON-RES SMNS001 | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-MINI-ONE-COOPER-EXHAUST-SCORPION-NON-RES-SMNS001-/230637319801?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AMini&hash=item35b30e3679#ht_6895wt_824)
Is the Milltek that good? Worth the extra? Can I ask where you got it and how much you paid please?
And yes the nun I am considerate lol, I hate those cheap ass exhausts that just sound like you have a hole! I just want a nice note and not a brass band lol spikeyadrian Aug 31st, 2012, 05:49 PM The problem with the Scorpion is that it's non-resonated, which
means it will be louder than the resonated version.
Now, the resonated version of the Scorpion will, i'm sure, be fine.
I had a Scorpion fitted to a previous car, it was superb quality.
The milltek cost me £495 fitted at a specialist tuners in Bromsgrove.
I know i paid a bit 'over the odds', however, i'm soo fussy when
it comes to my car, i was happy to pay extra for it to be fitted by
Professionals.
They did a superb job and it's fitted to within the millimeter. :D
I must say, the build quality and sound of the milltek make it worth
what i paid. harvey94 Aug 31st, 2012, 06:04 PM Hi,
I know the Milltek will cost me £357 not including fitting but I will take it to the garage that does all my work, can I ask if this is the same as you have?

the Meteor tail pipe not the Jet. harvey94 Aug 31st, 2012, 06:25 PM Yes harvey, that's the same as mine, except mine has

Is there a difference between them? Or is it just visual? Don't want to get one to then find out I need to change my rear bumper lol The Nun Aug 31st, 2012, 06:48 PM All sounds really good, Ive just got the factory boggo JCW and thats really quiet, my neighbours are quite pleased about it too ;) olly-w Aug 31st, 2012, 08:12 PM Hey Harvey, the non resonated Scorpion there that you mentioned is the exact exhaust I have on mine. I was told a guy who lives in my street (car mechanic) that the resonated would be almost exactly the same as the stock R50 exhaust. I didn't believe him, but he was right.
He said there'd be absolutely no point in buying the resonated if I want a little more noise (like yourself, not silly loud though, just nicer than stock).
I took his advice and bought the non resonated system. The exact one you mentioned, from that exact eBay shop, and it's absolutely fantastic. Not too loud, and warms up nicely giving it an immense sound. It has a lovely burbly sound with light popping, I'll upload a video of mine on here for you.
If you like it, the exhaust is actually about to go up for sale due to an upgrade (to an R53, so it'll be no use to me) and I'll be putting the stock exhaust on to sell the One. I've had it 2-3 months I'd say, it's done about 400 miles maybe. You could have it for £200 if you want. olly-w Aug 31st, 2012, 08:57 PM Not sure how to post the video here but here's a link to it:

Really appreciate the offer and video , to be honest I am more leaning towards the milltek as I would just be gutted if I went cheaper and didn't like it! I haven't done anything else half hearted with my mini and dont want to start now , if I can afford the milltek then I dont think I will go wrong.
The only down side I have heard on the milltek was that it is not suited to a one or cooper and sounds like stock but I just can't believe that! And from what spikeyadrian says, well he is delighted!! spikeyadrian Sep 1st, 2012, 01:12 PM Hey Harvey,
I had the standard Cooper exhaust on my car for eight years, since
it was brand new. One of the reasons i changed was my exhaust was rusty as hell and i didn't think it looked/sounded good.
There is no way in a million years that the milltek sounds like the stock exhaust!
It sounds FAB. :D harvey94 Sep 1st, 2012, 04:11 PM ^^^ stop it!!! Your going to cost me more money! Lol
If you don't mind me asking, does the Milltek make the popping noises? If you know what I mean lol spikeyadrian Sep 1st, 2012, 05:35 PM It doesn't make 'popping' noises, it more of a deep
burble/rumble. :) harvey94 Sep 1st, 2012, 05:47 PM It doesn't make 'popping' noises, it more of a deep
burble/rumble. :)
Really appreciate you answering my questions!
Think it's got to be the Milltek from the way you describe , sounds just what I am after, not too loud but you know it's there! :)
Also I heard lohen use this on their demo mini one spikeyadrian Sep 1st, 2012, 05:58 PM Let me know what you think when it's fitted.
It took me months to make my mind up, i don't regret buying
the Milltek at all, i'm chuffed with it.
Want some Samco hoses like yours now. ;) minitec22 Sep 4th, 2012, 04:28 PM Anything Cat-Back will not get to loud and milltek is a great sounding exahuast. harvey94 Sep 5th, 2012, 01:56 PM Well in the end I bought the scorpion! :aargh: it's now fitted, I got the non res version and I absolutely love it!!! It's not too loud and has a fantastic rumble noise ,my main reason was i got such a good price including fitting and even an option to swap it if I didn't like it but I absolutely love it!!
The build quality is second to none and also comes with a first owner lifetime warranty.
Very happy :) spikeyadrian Sep 5th, 2012, 02:04 PM Glad you like it Harvey, as I said before, I had one on a previous car and I thought the quality was brilliant! James burbidge Sep 5th, 2012, 03:12 PM I have the scorpion and am well pleased with it it's more of a poping exhaust unlike the miltec
I love the names scorpion in the ends.
Real good quality
And omg did you get the stickers :p harvey94 Sep 5th, 2012, 03:44 PM did you get the stickers :p
Yeah!! lol lol Loving_it Mar 8th, 2013, 01:20 PM Bit of a thread revival here but there is so much info on exhausts on here it's mad.
I think I am going to go for a miltek because of the praise it gets. I just can't seem to find a answer for motorway drone as I do lots of motorway miles. Is the miltek ok for this. My cooper s already has a GTT re route pipe ins there slash cut tips and I don't think it sounds much different to the miltek videos I have watched.
Thanks TLBmcs Mar 12th, 2013, 04:17 PM +1 for the Miltek. Doesn't seem over loud on Motorway driving. To be honest I was a bit skeptical because I did't want to look like a chav with a stupidly loud exhaust. This is a perfect medium, very subtly but when you plant your right foot you know it's there. Nice burbling and a few pops and bangs as well. Ryanjdover Mar 12th, 2013, 05:38 PM Bit of a thread revival here but there is so much info on exhausts on here it's mad.

Depends I suppose whether or not you go for a non resonated or resonated exhaust. Resonator will cut out a fair but of cabin drone when on the motorway
