hi i have a mini one 2002 with a intermitant start issue it will happen say 1 out of 3 times when you put key in ignition all lights come on as normal you turn the key the engine turns over but will not fire you do this 5/6/7 times then it will start i have changed spark plugs checked leads checked earth etc etc i think it may be the fuel pump being faulty but am new to the mini scene is there anything else im missing that could be at fault ?

I read somewhere that there is a computer firmware upgrade that takes care of this problem.

Here in Mexico, BMW is aware of this but they charge quite a sum to have the computer firmware flashed. In the United States it's done for free as far as I know.

does anybody know about flashing the firmware in the uk like cost where to have it done etc ?
any help would be great cheers

since the post it has had the ecu read by a computer and it showed no fault codes that would be connected with the problem ?
is this common with the firmware needing upgraded ?
