Hi all, new member, first post. After a fair bit of research, I just replaced the original Continentals on my beloved 2010 Clubman with v-rated Avid Envigors. They're much smoother and quieter, but I really miss the crisp, instantaneous steering response that for me is one of the big attractions of my Mini. While it's not an S, I do drive pretty aggressively and like pushing to the limits on curves.

I've only had the Yokohamas for a day, so they may grow on me. But I do have 30 days to take them back, and I want to begin weighing options now. FWIW I live in south-central US (Nashville) so I don't really need snow handling, though rain is occasionally in the picture. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Initially felt the same coming off of oem Dunlop runflats. However the ride, price and quietude of the AVs were well worth the slight loss of crispness of the thicker side walled runflats. Since 98% of my driving is straight and level, the occasional rush venturing into some aggressive twisties hasn't been lost.

up the tire pressure a little

my 2012 CMS All4 lists 2 different pressures, 32 psi for all loads and speeds up to 100 mph and 38 psi for all loads and all speeds (over 100 mph)

i initially was not happy with the oem tires at 32, tried 38 and was amazed at the change for the better

i have since tweaked a little and am now running 36 in the rear and 42 in the front

Thanks for the input guys. I am getting used to the Yokohamas, but definitely plan to bump up the tire pressure this weekend and see if that stiffens up the ride ever so slightly.
