Hello everyone! I'm kinda new in Minis I have a mini r53 and this week i had a alternator failure problem. I decided to do it myself since i had mechanic experience with many cars, but never with minis. I already mounted the new alternator, but when i was fitting the belt it does not fit well, there is a lot of space hanging in the air. I thought that by removing the lock pin it will adjust, but nothing. Then when i decided to use the belt tensioner tool i couldnt since piece where I insert the lock pin went down all the way. I managed to fix it. But my real question is, do i need to chance the belt for a new one or there is somehow a way to adjust the belt! Please help!

Bought new belt and everything solved! I think if you chance the alternator you should change the belt also! Better results and saves you a lot of headaches!
