: Removing Factory Fitted Spotlights- Easy Job?

Looking at buying a Mini Cooper S convertible at the moment. We've seen a nice car that is fitted with the JCW aero kit and spotlights. To be honest I think I prefer the look of the standard Cooper S, and I'm worries that with the bonnet stripes we wanted to add the front of the car would look a little busy.

I was wondering of removal of spotlights is straightforward? Are there any holes in the dashboard or grille that will look unsightly after removal or is it simple just to detach them?

Should be straightforward but you might need to replace the grille.

Let me know if you go ahead with this as I might be interested in buying them off you. I love the spotlights

Removing the spotlights should be pretty easy.
What you will need to do, is remember to treat
the areas of the bonnet that had holes drilled in them to
fix the brackets.
You don't want rust to get a foothold! :frown:

Sometimes the brackets are riveted rather than bolted in position so then would need the rivets drilling out, not that difficult but you need to be careful of any slips and protect the bonnet area from getting dented in the process.

Keep the spotlights and junk the stripes and have a MINI thats looks a bit different to all the others.

Thanks for all the tips. In view of my reservations about the car we opted for another without the JCW body kit or spots: I little more mainstream I agree but we think we've made the right choice!
