: Tyre pressure loss warning after fitting new tyres

I had 2 run-flat tyres replaced last weekend on my Cooper S - the same spec as original fit. Today, less than a week later, the pressure loss warning has come on when driving at low speed in traffic, though there is no obvious sign that anything is wrong, so I'm not inclined to believe it. I'll take it back to the fitters to get it checked but has anyone else had this issue?

Have you actually checked the tyre pressures?

The new tyres may have needed a tyre sensor reset (via the dashboard options on a second gen car) since they will have a fractionally bigger size than the old tyres as they aren't worn. It may have taken until now for the sensors to decide that the tiny difference was enough to cause them to go off.

Have you reset the sensor?

You have to do this every time you inflate or change tires so the system calibrates all four tires.

Just press the button (below the handbreak) and roll it, after a while the light will turn off by itself meaning it calibrated successfully.

Just a thought...

exactly what I was going to say, but surely tallon checked the actual pressures before posting ?? ;)
