Hi All,

I'm a noob to the Mini world, and I have searched but can't find an exact answer to my dilemma, so please bear with me.

I have a '02 Mini Cooper and it had the Tape deck head unit with 6 disc changer in the boot.

I bought a nice shiny Alpine HU (CDE133BT) and it's not working.

Couple of problems:

1. Aerial adapter. I've not seen an aerial cable like that in the Mini before and I need to find an adapter.
This is what mine looks like (attached Photo 3)
and the rear of the existing crappy Phillips BMW tape deck (Photo 4)
What is it called and where can I find an adapter?
EDIT: Is it a Fakra type ?

2. Regardless of that, the freaking unit doesn't even power on. I got a harness adapter from Halfrauds which 'fits' at least, but when I try to turn it on, nada. It's an AUTOLEADS PC2-75-4 adapter. Do I need to wire extra power into it now ?

3. The white cable (part of the original loom) is for the changer, I'm assuming, yes ?

you need to get one of those kits (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BMW-Mini-Fascia-Facia-Aerial-Adaptor-Panel-Surround-Fitting-Kit-Package-B4-/180746001172?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a154d1b14), they include the wiring harness, the aerial converter and the facia adapter as the mini stereo is slightly bigger that standard radios.

With the wiring harness it should end in ISO and the one for your Alpine may or may not end in ISO, if your stereo is not getting power it might mean the wiring is different, you'll notice with the ISO ends that one side has all the speaker wires and the other side has the power wires etc.
