Just got a MCS today, 05 plate.
I've looked around the car and found what appears to be an iPod adaptor in the centre arm rest, the type that plugs into the bottom of the iPhone / iPod

But when I plug my iPhone or iPod into it, nothing happens.

When I press mode on the headunit, it simply says "no disk", if I play a song on the ipod, nothing happens, I put a playlidt called MINI1 on the ipod and nothing happened if I pressed the 1 preset button.

The scuffs inside the centre arm rest certainly look as though this has been used, but what is it?

I have a MFSW with phone buttons, but I can't see that any phone kit is installed?

Have you found a way of making it work?

A similar thing happened to me, but in my case it worked when I selected the CD Changer function and then press the number 4 preset key on the head unit.

For this to work you'll need a DICE iPod/iPhone (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CFwQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.diceelectronics.com%2F&ei=69wFUP-yG6LE2gWv7-ClBQ&usg=AFQjCNHlsSQH2yDoyG2aj7W7DYg-tlVodw&sig2=GiwQ7yPTjHcsX-fUIv2R3g) adapter pre-installed on the head unit.
