Has anyone fitted an aftermarket xenon kit to their mini?
I'm wondering where the ballasts will go.

On the latest MINIs they go behind the headlights, but the lights are fixed to the body so its easier and much better. On Gen 1 MINIs the headlights are fixed to the engine lid and I would have thought its heavy enough already without adding more things to weigh it down, so maybe they ought to go down on the inner wing somewhere? providing of course theres not a recommended maximum distance they should be from the light unit? If there is then youre stuck with fixing it on the engine lid.

I'd recommend against fitting the kits in the first place. Xenon bulbs require an E marked xenon projector to be anywhere near road legal. You will also have to tell your insurer about your xenon kit, and since it is most likely not road legal then they will not insure you.
