Hi everybody,
I bought a mini one 54 reg with full service history few months ago. Car drives beautifully and passed MOT with no advisory.
Yesterday it's engine warning light came on. I read the manual and it says visit the dealer soon (deterioration in the emissions)
When I put the ignition in position one I see Oil service (and a clock next to it) on the left and on the right it says 8250 miles. When you press the button again on the dashboard it shows -1200 and it flashes.
From service history I can see that the car was last serviced in May 2011 and mileage was around 18000 (now it is 21000 n something)
My understanding is that 8250 is the mile to next service. And flashing light means its -1200 over due for an oil change?
Its my first mini experience and I dont know if this engines emission light is on, due to oil service.
I checked the oil level that seemed fine. After checking the oil level the engine light was gone for a trip but when I started next it was back on and its not disappearing again.
Please help me with this annoying thing. If i go to MINi they are ridiculously expensive.
