As the title says, I have just bought an 03 Cooper S which had the factory HK system, however this has been replaced with an Alpine unit. On further investigation the speakers have been changed, the amp is missing and the plug behind the head unit has been butchered to fit the Alpine.
It's a nice system that has been installed but I like originality and would prefer to reinstall the system if I can do it fairly cost effectively.
I know the problem probably stems from the HK amp being faulty and will be tricky to replace but I'm willing to collect all the bits a little at a time.
The original spec of the car:
Sat Nav - Still there
HK - missing
MD Boost - missing but the manual is still there so I know that is what was fitted
MFSW - still there
Obviously I'd like to supplement the MD player with the CD player so I believe I would need:
CD Boost (although I don't know what the boost bit means lol)
All six HK speakers
HK amp
Plug for the head unit and a little wiring to replace what's missing.
Once that's back in I will regain the Nav voice and the steering controls
Any advice would be gratefully accepted:smile:
