Wife's 2003 Cooper has developed a problem where the drivers door will lock but not unlock using the remote.
When I unlock it, I can hear the door actuator in the door and it feels as if it's working but it remains locked?
Using the key and it locks/unlocks both doors/boot fine.
Is this the actuator gone or is it something simpler?

From what you describe it sounds like the actuator is at fault , same symptoms as i was having , changed actuator and all has been perfect since.

It is a DIY job , time and patience req if its your first one , drivers door takes longer due to door key lock.
