Hi

My wife's 2004 Mine One 1.6 Convertible has developed an intermittent fault.

While Driving along normally the rear Parking sensor warning goes off. Apparently one of the reversing lights is also on and the other reversing light has blown.

If she stoos and restarts the car it's OK for a while but then the same thing happens again.

Does anybody have any ideas? As a temporary measure I've removed fuse no 13 which I thought was for the reversing lights only but that has also stopped the parking sensors working.

Thanks

Well the reverse sensor should only activate when in reverse. Did you try new turn signal bulbs? Some times they get a little corrosion build up but the bulbs are cheap enough to replace as a process of elimination. Have you had any work performed at the rear end of the car? Perhaps something is pinching a wire causing the intermittent problem. Perhaps someone knows if the reverse lights are in series with the reverse parking sensors...

Wow - thanks for the quick response.

No I haven't tried replacing anything yet. We've not had any work done on the car.

This first happened a few months ago and was a one off - until today.

I was wondering if there might be an earth problem but thought I'd see if anybody on this forum has had anything similar.

When on the home page of this site there is a forum search box on the right hand side. Maybe you should begin the search there in case someone has already figured this problem out.

I have already done that and it would seem that nobody has

Changed the reversing light switch and it looks as though that has done the trick. Thank you Macguyvic
