Hi

Just bought a Cooper S 52 plate, really happy with it, it's currently done 58000 miles and runs like a dream, bit of steam from bonnet scoop which S##t me up first off but seems quite common and coolant is nice a full still.

It has full service history, first 2 with Mini other 3 with private garage, so my question what kind of things should of been changed around this point (timing belt etc). I'm not convinced that the private garage would of done any of these.

Hi and welcome :)

I am sure the garage carried out a basic service on your car but you can check the simple things yourself like new air filter fitted , clean oil by checking the dip stick . Your mini also has a timing chain and not a belt and should not require changing. The steam you are seeing is also normal on the cooper s

Enjoy your new mini :)

It's a good one for early morning pedestrians, 'excuse me, you've got steam coming out of your bonnet'..... that's ok, it's Dragon's Breath
