im having trouble selling my car, even getting offers, what am i doing wrong?

my car is:
My 2005 Mini Cooper S in Grey.

The car has 61k miles majority motorway for the ones iv done, Full Service History, Cruise Control, Twin Panoramic Glass Roof, Ipod Connection, Full Heated Leather seats, Harman Kardon speaker upgrade, Xenon headlights, Front Full Beam Spotlights, Black Viper Pin Stripes, CD Player, Aircon, much more.

The car has been a real stunner for myself, a great looker round the town and very well looked after cleaned and oiled every couple of weeks at least!

When i purchased the Car in Feb 11, a new clutch was put in by the dealer, so that is like new, and since i have had the car myself, the timing chain has been fully replaced and recently in April this year a full new power steering system. Most recent report lookover done by Mini Harrogate in April so i have the diagnostic tests etc pretty recent. new bushes installed last year also. These have been in for roughly 1-2k miles.

Mechancially the car is sound and the above 2 well documenetd faults will save you at least £1,300 +

in truth, the alloys are kerbed, as from previous owner, although noticebale up close i am being honest.

Body work is fantastic, no scratches as far as i can tell.

if any one could give me some help or tips that would be great! i am open to offers buty dont seem to ever get any!

Hi,

I know you have asked this before , the only simple answer i can give you is it must be over priced for people , a cooper s is a very popular car but even they have a book price!

Mods , work done , repairs all mean nothing to the value of a car , you may get a little more because someone likes what you may have done but the car has and always will have a book price.

As i have said before its a buyers market at the moment and if someone is not willing to accept this then the buyer simply goes elsewhere with his/her cash.

Your lucky its not a house your trying to sell!

Been in that situation before :( Maybe ask the new car owner if they would take a deposit and hold the car for you? worth a try

its at a garage, the dealer says he can only give 4k part ex, which would mean me having to fork out like 4.5k more through finance which i dont fancy, if he had offered me 5+ i probs would have accepted :(

To give you an idea , I just sold my cooper s grey 54 plate, 58k, new clutch, new bearings, jcw body kit for 5400 part exchange at a mini dealership.

I think if I try to sell privately i would have got around 5k. Dealership had offered 4650 for the car twice before.

Hopefully that gives you some sort of idea of price.

Tbh I think 6k is a bit Too much when you can pick up a 07 plate cooper s at a lower mileage for c.9k
