Hi, bought the car few weeks ago (04 face-lift model) with only one key a master key but it didn't worked as a remote... Programmed the key this morning according to the instruction found online and it works fine, you can lock it remotely, open the boot and the doors but it doesn't unlock drivers door. you can hear the click but doors remain locked and still have to use the key to get inside.
when you lock it with the key and unlock it with the key it opens both doors fine. only with the remote it struggles with drivers doors
Any ideas guys.
will appreciate all the help.

Hi,

With what you describe it sounds like your door actuator is faulty , classic symptoms are door won't unlock but will lock fine , this can happen to either door, I have replaced both my door actuators due to this happening. You can either live with it and keep using the key ( serious pain ) or you can fix this yourself if your handy enough, the part will cost £90+ from mini dealer, I don't recommend buying a used one as you could end up with the exact same fault.

You mention you bought it weeks ago, dealer? If so take it back and get them to sort it.

thanks for a reply, will be able to do it myself just needed to make sure what's wrong. will try to do it over the weekend.
Bought it private and wasn't aware of that problem until I got back home. they were clever enough to keep the car opened on their drive and that was something i wasn't thinking about.
