Hi,

Since owing our Cooper Convertible I have Grown to love it. But today I heard one of those intermittent trim bodywork rattles or knocks. It only happens occasionally , speed bumps can set it off, it's not a constant buzz only a knock now and then. It seems to be coming from behind my right side (drivers side door or rear seat trim UK car).

Anyone with any ideas.......apart from the easiest solution of turn up the radio.

Oh and what's the best way to connect a 6th gen ipod. My car is a 2011 model with a USB and 3.5 jack plug. But using our standard ipod docking lead to usb won't play anything. The car says the lead is incorrect.!!!! Dam it.

Cheers

Check the rear seat belt buckles as they tend to bang or knock against the trim. I found that you could slide these up to the top of the seat and wedge them to stop this.

Re the iPod lead, there are two types, depending on the system installed. If you have satnav/Mini Connect it's one lead but the standard system uses a different lead. They look the same but work differently. I have a Countryman with Mini Connect but found I got the same error message as you when I tried to connect with my lead in a loan car with the standard radio.

I had an annoying rattle on my 2010 Cooper D Convertible, just by my right arm it seemed, tried everything so see if it was trim not fitting properly.

Ended up taking it back to Cooper Norwich and the technician took it out for a run with me in it, roof up, roof down, windows up, windows down and ***'s law the rattle did not present itself. They did take it in and apparently it was something to do with the door, I am guessing that something was loose either inside it or the door itself.

Anyway, the annoying rattle has gone and everything is right in my Mini World now.
