Vines at Gatwick have always had a reputation for trying to get money out of customers. I have now witnessed this first hand!
The car was sold to me with low brake disks and pads (had to be changed in the first 3 months!) My wheel almost fell off on the motorway due to an obstruction behind it!
Most recently the air con and the radiator broke, which were repaired under warranty, however upon collection I was told of slow puncture. Getting this repaired elsewhere due to cost (£120 per tyre), my wheel locking nut key was broken. When I advised Mini of this they called me in to their branch where they attempted using their master key. I went in, I was told that the nut was far too tight to be undone. Therefore the only option was to drill this out! (at £130 p/h labour charge!)
Luckily for me I know someone @ BMW who removed all 4 wheel bolts... no problem!
After complaining to Gatwick, the response was ridiculous! All recorded telephone calls (that they listened to) were made up, dates of the unfolding events were made up, I have been accused of breaking their master key, the list is endless!! (I have it all in email!)
The moral of this story is DO NOT use Vines @ Gatwick, the principle dealer is incompetent in his findings, and I believe very biased.
I should have listened to my friends.....:angry:
